Who I am

The Author's Bestiary is run by Skye MacKinnon, based in Scotland, UK. I'm the data controller for anything you share here. Questions or requests: [email protected].

What I collect and why

When you join the launch list I collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. I use them to tell you when the shop opens and to send occasional emails about tools and resources for authors. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.

Who processes it

• Flodesk stores the mailing list and sends the emails. Flodesk is based in the US; transfers are covered by standard contractual safeguards.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and passes your sign-up to Flodesk. It doesn't keep a copy.

I never sell or share your details with anyone else.

Cookies

This site doesn't set any cookies or use tracking.

How long I keep it

Until you unsubscribe. Subscribers who haven't opened an email in a long time may be removed sooner.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it's used. Email me and I'll sort it. If you're unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
